Get to know Darren & Carol, the CEOs of Offroad Hybrid Caravans, QLD.
Before Darren & I started Offroad Hybrids, I worked within the childcare industry for 29 years. Nine of those years were dedicated to operating a franchise, facilitating 40 educators and caring for up to 156 children per day in a Childcare & Pre-school Centre
I am very passionate about Care and Education for young children.
My duties during that role included day to day operations and running of the centre, enrolling and building strong rapports with each child and family, administration, training and mentoring staff, and ensuring WHS, legislation and regulation requirements were adhered to.
From 1995 – 1997, Darren worked at a gold mine in maintenance & as a supervisor of gold crushing mill replacement. Then from 1997 – 1999, he was a porter for freight planes, driving machines & loading planes.
From 1999 – 2001, Darren worked at Shipworks, as a ship building safety officer & crane driver.
From 2001 – 2018 owned a glass & aluminium business manufacturing glass and aluminium to retail customers & builders, main work, glass pool fences, balustrading, aluminium screens and gates for the next 18 years, and here we are.
Oh, many things. One is that our offroad hybrid caravans are a mix of a caravan and a camper trailer. So you get the maneuverability of a camper trailer with the luxury of a caravan. This is a big plus when you’re out on the road heading somewhere and you want to visit a particular spot but can’t because your caravan won’t make it through the rougher terrain.
And any serious camper or road warrior will tell you that having a caravan that is easy and quick to set up and take down is a godsend. And because we’ve been caravanning and camping for over 30 years, we know first-hand what is important out on the road and what is not.
For example, our offroad hybrid caravans have plenty of storage space inside and out and include an enclosed annexe. Customers really appreciate the enclosed annexe as a standard extra, so they have more room for entertaining or sleeping.
Another point we love about our hybrid caravans is that we can upgrade our customers with almost anything they want. Customers say that our vans have everything they need to make their camping trip and adventure as safe, comfortable and practical as possible and that our vans are a great return on their investment.
